Patisserie Manuel to Close Montgomery Mall Shop, Keep Silver Spring Location Open

Silver Spring-based Patisserie Manuel will close its Montgomery Mall location on Sunday, March 28, according to a post on their Instagram page.

“It is very sad to have to close after years of hard work and effort that we put in to get there,” Chef Claudia Olea wrote, “but as many of you know, our business opened a few months before this pandemic began and although we have done the impossible to keep going, our effort has been in vain and COVID has ended up destroying our store.”

Olea opened her kitchen at 8810 Brookville Rd. in 2013 after graduating from L’Academie de Cuisine. That location will remain open for online ordering, pickup and delivery.

The menu features European-style pastries, breads and specialties from Olea’s native Chile.

The Silver Spring bakery’s hours are 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Sunday. The bakery is closed Monday.
