Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema has praised Rohobot Ethiopian Restaurant at 7833 Eastern Ave. as one of his 8 Favorite Places to Eat Right Now, giving high marks to its delivery packaging:
The award for the best-insulated delivery meal goes to the four-year-old Rohobot in Silver Spring, which bundles its vegetable combination like a babushka wraps a Russian baby: so completely, it’s hard to see what’s inside. Peel back the folds of injera, though, and you witness a kaleidoscope of yellow lentils, dark green collards, crimson beets and turmeric-colored cabbage with bright orange carrots.
Sietsema also noted that the restaurant recently added a breakfast menu due to popular demand. “Customers asked for breakfast and chef-owner Tsehay Beferdu recently delivered, with a menu offered daily until noon.”
The restaurant is currently open for takeout and delivery only, with delivery available via DoorDash, Grubhub, Postmates, and Uber Eats.
Rohobot is the third Ethiopian restaurant in Silver Spring to get high marks from the local press in recent months. Beteseb was noted by Eater D.C. and Thrillist in January and February, respectively, and Washington City Paper’s Laura Hayes named Langano’s kitfo sandwich as one of her 12 Favorite Fall Sandwiches last October.
