The County Council is planning to hold four public hearings on the FY2022 operating budget beginning next week, according to an announcement.
The first hearing will be held at 1:30 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6. Two more will follow on Wednesday and Thursday, April 7 and 8, at 7 p.m.
County Executive Marc Elrich presented his recommended operating budget of $6 billion to the council on March 15.
Residents can sign up to testify via Zoom by clicking Sign Up on the council’s calendar page by 5 p.m. the day before a daytime hearing and by 10 a.m. on the day of an evening hearing to participate that night.
Council will spend the next two months reviewing the budget recommendations and plans to approve the operating budget in late May.
Community members can find the form to upload their comments on the budget online. The deadline to submit testimony is midnight two business days before council action.
Written testimony, with the subject line FY22 budget, can also be emailed to [email protected] or sent to the Montgomery County Council at 100 Maryland Ave., Rockville, Md. 20850.
Details on the budget are online as well.
