Police Release Video of Armed Robbery Aboard Ride On Bus in Silver Spring

Detectives from the county’s 3rd District Investigative Section are looking to the public for help identifying a suspect in a July 4th armed robbery aboard a Ride On bus in Silver Spring.

“On July 4, at approximately 11:31 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the intersection of Piney Branch Road and Garland Avenue for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred,” according to a press release. “The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect boarded a Ride On bus in the area of Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street. When the bus arrived at the bus stop located on Piney Branch Road at Garland Avenue, the suspect snatched the victim’s cell phone from the victim’s hand, displayed a knife, and threatened the victim. The suspect then exited the bus and fled the scene on foot towards Arliss Street.”
