County Releases Schedule Changes for Veterans Day

The county has released its schedule of changes for the Veterans Day holiday tomorrow, Nov. 11.

All county offices, libraries and state offices and courts will be closed.

However, county-operated COVID-19 vaccination and testing centers will be open regular hours, and Alcohol Beverage Services stores will open from 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

Ride On and Ride On extRa will operate on a holiday schedule, while the Flash operates on weekend schedule, which means running the Orange line only; Flex rides will be in service.

The TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center will be open from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., while TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store will be closed.

Commuters can find MARC Train and commuter bus holiday information available online.

Aquatic facilities and community recreation centers will be open, but senior centers and administrative offices will be closed.

Montgomery Parks headquarters, permits office and customer service office and most of Parks indoor facilities will be closed; more information is online.

The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station in Derwood will be open, though the County recycling center will be closed. County trash and recycling pickup service will not operate on Thursday; regular pickup will slide to Friday and Saturday.

Finally, parking at county garages, lots and street meters will be free on Veterans Day.
