The county is now offering free COVID-19 at-home polymerase chain reaction tests at additional locations in the county starting today (March 16), officials announced.
County residents can pick up two PCR test kits per person, self-administer a test and drop them at marked locations at the pick-up locations.
“Providing an option for residents to perform self-PCR testing at home is one more way the county is helping residents remain safe and healthy,” Dr. James Bridgers, acting county health officer, said in a press release. “Testing continues to be important to contain the spread of COVID-19 in our community.”
The most convenient locations for Silver Spring/Takoma Park residents are:
- Dennis Avenue Health Center, 2000 Dennis Ave., Silver Spring, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday and Saturday
- East County Community Recreation Center, 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, and
