Signage Installed at The Breakfast Club Brunch Bar

An Instagram post from The Breakfast Club Brunch Bar indicates that signage has been installed, as the restaurant is moving toward an opening this spring at the Fenton Silver Spring apartment complex in downtown Silver Spring.

We previously reported that local restaurateur Jason Miskiri has originally planned for the restaurant to be open in March, but has run into construction supply chain issues during buildout. “[We] have slow[ed] down because of the materials being on backorder. This is true throughout the country,” Miskiri said to the Source last March. The Breakfast Club will be adjacent to the also-incoming Black Lion Café, a Rockville-based coffee shop and roaster.

The restaurant, named in honor of Miskiri’s late father whom his family called Papa Sherman, will have “breakfast all day with lunch and dinner items” instead of a rumored vegan concept, Miskiri said to the Source last January. “I waved the vegan concept to another time.”

The Breakfast Club will feature an all-day breakfast alongside “Southern American with a twist of Caribbean” cuisine, Miskiri said. Bethesda Beat reported in January that the menu will include omelets, French toast stuffed with cream cheese and strawberries, and pancakes, as well as heavier entrees, such as lamb chops, chicken and waffles, and shrimp and grits.

Miskiri opened The Angry Jerk last summer on Georgia Ave. in downtown Silver Spring. He opened Society Restaurant & Lounge in 2012, which he co-owns with his sister, Samantha Khamis-el-Miskiri, according to Bethesda Magazine. The building housing Society was placed for sale earlier this month.
