Forest Estates Farmers Market Returns Sunday After Two-Year Hiatus

The Forest Estates Farmers Market will return Sunday, June 5 after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, organizers said in an email to the Source.

The market will be held from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. in the parking lot of General Getty Park at 10000 Woodland Dr.

Calvert Farm, a family farm from Cecil County, will continue to supply the seasonal produce, which it also supplies to a local CSA.

Organizers have planned a brief welcoming ceremony with Casey Anderson and Partap Verma (chair and vice chair, respectively, of the Planning Board), Del. Jared Solomon D-District 18), and Councilmember Evan Glass (D-At Large).

Attendees will be able to meet and talk with owner Pam Stegall Roberts and staff of Calvert Farm. In addition, Suzy Provine, owner of Farm Girl Bakery of Millersville, Md., which will have baked goods for sale, and members of her family will attend.

There also will be maps available for the Forest Estates Garden Tour, which will run from 12:30–5:30 p.m. Sunday.

The farmers market will be held every other Sunday at least through September, organizers said, with fall plans yet to be determined.
