Takoma Park Police Collecting Items to Donate to Domestic Violence Victims

The Takoma Park Police Department has begun a drive to collect care packages and individual items to be donated to those victims of domestic violence and/or their children who may be in critical need, the department announced.

The month-long effort is being conducted in partnership with the county’s Family Justice Center Foundation in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness month.

“Emergency care packages provide brand new toiletries and personal care items for each survivor of domestic violence and their children who walk through the doors of the Family Justice Center to receive services,” the announcement reads. “Brand new stuffed animals, games, toys and books are also provided to every child who goes to the Family Justice Center. Please note that items donated should be new and unopened, if applicable.”
