Zinnia Featured in Washingtonian’s “11 Cozy Fall Patios and Drinks Gardens Around D.C.”

The area’s restaurant scene continues to attract national attention and accolades for its quality and diversity.

Washingtonian Magazine features Zinnia’s restaurant and garden in its article titled “11 Cozy Fall Patios and Drinks Gardens Around D.C.

Silver Spring’s sprawling restaurant and garden—which takes over the historic Mr. K’s Tollhouse space—is an all-seasons destination. Patrons can make reservations for Oktoberfest-style patio seating, or space in the garden (fire pit reservations are available later in the year). New head chef Danny Wells dishes up comforting al fresco eats like short rib sliders and steamed mussels.

An Octoberfest event was held on October 1 to commemorate the first anniversary of The Gardens’ opening.

In September, The Restaurant at Zinnia opened under the direction of Chef Danny Wells, bringing together the gardens, the tavern, and the recently opened café to offer customers a variety of dining options. Republic, which Wells opened in Takoma Park in 2013, closed on September 4th after a nearly ten-year run.

Last June, Zinnia was featured as having the best tavern garden in the region in Washingtonian’s Best of Summer in D.C. issue.
