PLNT Burger is Once Again Certified Kosher

PLNT Burger is once again Kosher-certified, according to a report from YeahThatsKosher.

YeahThatsKosher reports that the vegan fast-casual restaurant chain from local celebrity chef and Top Chef alum Spike Mendelsohn has switched to IKC Kosher, which is run by Rabbi Zev Schwarcz.

Washington, D.C.-based certification agency DC Kosher said earlier this week that due to PLNT Burger’s rapid expansion, DC Kosher no longer felt comfortable providing the chain with its kosher certification.

Jonah Goldman, PLNT Burger’s director of strategic marketing, said in a Facebook comment that new certification certificates are on the way to all of PLNT Burger’s locations.

YeahThatsKosher also reports that the company has plans to open nearly 30 locations by 2023.
