Suspect Sought in Mail Carrier Robbery in Downtown Silver Spring; $50k Reward Offered

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect who robbed a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier on Wednesday morning at 1215 East-West Highway in downtown Silver Spring.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, USPIS said in a press release.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his late 20s, approximately 5’10” tall, of average build, and was wearing a black shirt, black pants, and black and white Puma shoes. He was carrying an orange jacket. The suspect fled in a red vehicle, possibly a Jeep Cherokee or Jeep Compass.
