Award-winning kosher Chinese restaurant Holy Chow! is seeking certified mashgiachs to oversee the restaurant’s operations, according to a post on the outlet’s Facebook page.
Kosher restaurants require a mashgiach to be on duty at all times in order to ensure that the food being served is kosher. According to the Facebook post, the restaurant may permanently close if it does not have qualified mashgiachs.
“This is one of those times where a community really needs to step up and decide whether or not they want kosher food,” the Facebook post reads. “We are not the only establishment in this predicament. There are at least two other restaurants that are dealing with the same issue.”
