A section of Colesville Road near downtown Silver Spring will undergo overnight construction later this month.
MT Laney Company, Inc. of Eldersburg has requested a temporary noise waiver from the county’s Department of Environmental Protection for the milling and paving of Colesville Road between Spring St. and Woodside Parkway.
As part of the road work planned to begin on August 14 and last for several nights, asphalt milling and overlaying of new asphalt will be performed.
According to a public notice, the Maryland State Highway Administration requires nighttime construction to ensure worker safety, minimize disruption to local businesses, and reduce traffic congestion.
