Suspect Sought in Sexual Assault on Sligo Creek Trail

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a sexual assault that took place Sunday afternoon on the Sligo Creek Trail.

Maryland-National Capital Park Police said in a press release that a woman was assaulted at approximately 3:55 p.m. Sunday while walking on Sligo Creek Parkway near Three Oaks Drive. A male unknown grabbed the victim’s buttocks while she was walking along the trail. A confrontation ensued between the victim and the suspect, who fled along Three Oaks Drive.

As described by the police, the suspect stands approximately 5’8″, has a medium build, light skin, and is wearing a teal blue windbreaker, brown or tan cloth backpack with a buckle fastener, and a black ski mask.

Maryland-National Capital Park Police said that patrols have been increased in the area, and detectives are asking anyone with information or camera footage to contact them.
