Update: Video Released in Downtown Silver Spring Shooting Investigation

Montgomery County police need the community’s assistance in identifying four suspects linked to a shooting in downtown Silver Spring on January 25.

The incident resulted in injuries to two individuals.

An MCPD press release stated that a preliminary investigation found that around 11:50 p.m. on January 25, four suspects were driving a gray 2008-2011 Toyota Camry on Colesville Road. The suspects stopped, exited the vehicle, and approached an adult male pedestrian on the sidewalk. They proceeded to physically assault the victim, with one of the suspects brandishing a handgun and firing multiple shots, hitting the victim. An unintended bystander in the vicinity was also hit by one of the bullets meant for the initial victim. The suspects then fled the scene in the Toyota Camry.

Both adult male victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals, MCPD said.
