Darkest Hour, DC Brau Unleash ‘Perpetual | Termin-Ale’ Beer Collaboration

Takoma Park heavy metal band Darkest Hour and DC Brau have once again joined forces for a new beer collaboration.

The latest creation, ‘Perpetual | Termin-Ale,’ was created in honor of the band’s tenth album, “Perpetual | Terminal,” which was released last month through MNRK Heavy.

According to Darkest Hour, the ‘Perpetual | Termin-Ale’ amber ale stands as a testament to genuine teamwork, with guitarist Mike Schleibaum personally adding the hops during the brewing process. The beer marks the band’s second brew with DC Brau, following the success of their initial collaboration, ‘Savor The Swill,’ which accompanied the release of their ninth album, “Godless Prophets & the Migrant Flora,” back in 2017.

Fans can get a taste of this special beer at Darkest Hour’s upcoming hometown show at the Black Cat on April 6, wrapping up the first leg of the band’s “Perpetual | Terminal” tour cycle.

“Perpetual | Terminal” was produced by Taylor Larson of Bethesda-based MixWave, who also led the sessions for the band’s 2014 self-titled album on Sumerian Records. The new album was funded independently with the help of fan support on Patreon.

Darkest Hour’s previous album, “Godless Prophets & the Migrant Flora,” not only claimed the top spot on the Heatseekers Chart but also secured a position at #42 on the Billboard 200 and entered the Top 10 of the Top Vinyl Albums Chart. The 2017 release received accolades from several music publications including Revolver, EXCLAIM!, MetalSucks, New Noise, Metal Hammer, and PopMatters.

“Godless Prophets & the Migrant Flora” served as the inspiration for the Washington Capitals’ fight song during the 2017-18 hockey season and was reissued by MNRK Heavy last fall.
