Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Ride On Bus in Downtown Silver Spring: Victim Identified

Montgomery County Police continue their investigation into the fatal collision between a pedestrian and a Ride On bus that occurred early Saturday morning at the intersection of Second Avenue and Colesville Road in downtown Silver Spring.

MCPD said in a press release that officers from the 3rd District and Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service personnel responded around 1:55 a.m. Saturday to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Despite efforts to revive the victim through CPR, 29-year-old Mohammed Y. Ramadhan of Silver Spring was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate that at approximately 1:09 a.m., a Ride On Bus collided with Ramadhan under circumstances that are still under investigation. After the collision, the bus left the scene but was later located.

Although the details regarding the collision are uncertain, police have not released any new information or updates.

MCPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the incident and has asked any witnesses to come forward by calling (240) 773-6620.
