The MoCo Show reports that Dimmples Kettles is now open at 8073 Georgia Ave. in downtown Silver Spring.
The restaurant is located in the space previously occupied by Lotus Café, which closed last July after 15 years in business. Owner Eric Tataw informed the Source last fall that he had acquired the space, retaining Lotus Café’s chef, and would offer the former restaurant’s menu.
According to the restaurant’s Instagram page, Dimmples Kettles has “African, Vietnamese, Latino & Intercontinental” menus and specializes in Cameroonian dishes such as jollof rice, fufu, and ndole.
The county’s Board of License Commissioners has scheduled a hearing for May 16 at 2:30 p.m. to consider the restaurant’s application for a beer, wine, and liquor license (PDF).
Dimmples Kettles, located around the corner from the recently soft-opened Johnny Ray’s Sultry Soul Food, is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
