Exterior signage has been installed at the future MOM’s Organic Market as the Rockville-based natural and organic grocery store chain prepares to open at the Atwell on Spring mixed-use complex in downtown Silver Spring.
We previously reported that construction was underway at the Atwell on Spring complex, formerly known as Forte on Spring. Developed as a partnership between Bozzuto and Stonebridge, the mixed-use complex is located at the former Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission headquarters at 8787 Georgia Ave. and comprises two seven-story residential buildings housing 375 apartments, ground-floor retail space, and a public courtyard.
Development plans for the project were initially presented in 2017, and demolition and construction commenced in 2021.
Signage for new @MOMsOrganicMrkt at the corner of GA Ave and Spring St (in Silver Spring) went up yesterday. Any word on when it will open? cc: @SourcetheSpring pic.twitter.com/m8WxxJbuaU

“MOM’s is a wonderful anchor to have at our building,” Bozzuto Vice President of Development Devon Hastie said to the Source in 2020, “a grocery store, in particular, a grocery store focused on sustainable, healthy food for our residents.”
Signs at the complex indicate a Fall 2024 opening for MOM’s, but previous announcements had previously suggested a “late summer” opening. The Source has contacted MOM’s management and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
