Nash & Smash, an Aldie, Va.-based chain that describes itself as the “ultimate destination for fried chicken, Nashville-style sandwiches, smashed burgers, and more,” will open its first location in Montgomery County at the Woodmoor Shopping Center next month.
Construction at the restaurant began after permits were issued for the site in March, and exterior signage was installed earlier this summer.
Owner Zayan Abbassi told MoCo360 this week that the location, previously occupied by Subway and between Bento Express and Woodmoor Cleaners at 10121 Colesville Rd. in Four Corners, will open in early to mid-September.
“Everything is almost done,” Abbasi said, noting that the Silver Spring location has received its final permits and inspection approvals from the county.
Nash & Smash was in development for several years before opening its first location in Manassas last February. The company has since opened several other locations in the region, including Herndon, Ashburn, Laurel, and Ellicott City, and has partnered with Kallisto Steakhouse, Spice Village, and Peri-Peri Original for pop-up locations.
Peri-Peri Original has several locations in the area, including one at Colesville Center.
“People love our sandwiches,” Abbassi said to MoCo360, noting that he decided to open at the Woodmoor Shopping Center because of the area’s bustling environment, public transportation options, and proximity to other eateries and Montgomery Blair High School.
In addition to chicken sandwiches and smash burgers, Nash & Smash’s menu includes fried chicken tenders and wings, mac and cheese, waffle fries, and mocktails. The restaurant’s menu items are halal, and the smash burgers are available in sizes ranging from 3 to 12 ounces to accommodate individual preferences.
In the coming months, additional locations will open in Virginia (Arlington, Fairfax, Hampton, and Woodbridge) and Maryland (District Heights, Columbia, and Abingdon).
