Takoma Park Police Investigate Series of Car Burglaries

Takoma Park Police are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in a recent string of six car burglaries.

Police are investigating whether the break-ins are connected. According to spokesperson Cathy Plevy, most of the break-ins were reported in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 10, at the following locations:

700 block of Hudson Avenue: Officers responded at 1:42 a.m. on October 10. At an unknown time, unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim’s vehicle by smashing out the driver’s side window and stealing property.

8300 block of Roanoke Avenue: Officers responded at 6:11 a.m. on October 10. At an unknown time, unknown suspect(s) broke into two victims’ vehicles by smashing out the driver’s side window and rummaging through the vehicle, but it did not appear as though any property had been stolen at the time of the report.

8300 block of Eastridge Avenue: Officers responded at 7:10 a.m. on October 10. At an unknown time, unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim’s vehicle by smashing out the driver’s side window and rummaging through the vehicle, but it did not appear as though any property had been stolen at the time of the report.

8300 block of Flower Avenue: Officers responded at 7:15 a.m. on October 10. At an unknown time, unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim’s vehicle by smashing out the driver’s side front window and stealing property.

8300 block of Roanoke Avenue: Officers responded at 7:20 a.m. on October 10. At an unknown time, unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim’s vehicle by smashing out the driver’s side rear window and rummaging through the vehicle, but it did not appear as though any property had been stolen at the time of the report.

7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue: Officers responded at 8:43 p.m. on October 10. Sometime between October 9 at 8:00 p.m. and October 10 at 6:00 a.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim’s vehicle and stole property.
