Montgomery Parks officials have announced that the Ellsworth Urban Dog Park near downtown Silver Spring will close for construction later this month.
The park will be closed from mid to late November through May 2025.
Construction improvements will include building a retaining wall along the sidewalk next to the large dog park sunshade and upgrading the gates and entrances.
During construction, the front parking lot, the sidewalk along Colesville Road, and the sidewalk surrounding the dog park will be inaccessible. However, the playground and common areas of Ellsworth Urban Park will remain open.
