Ellsworth Urban Dog Park Renovation Delayed to January 2025

The renovation of Ellsworth Urban Dog Park in downtown Silver Spring has been rescheduled for early January 2025.

Montgomery Parks officials announced last week that the renovation of the dog park at 621 Ellsworth Drive, which was originally scheduled to begin in mid-November, has been delayed due to procurement issues.

Ellsworth Urban Dog Park features two separate, fully enclosed, and accessible areas: one for small dogs under 20 pounds and another for large dogs over 20 pounds. The renovation project, which is expected to last approximately six months, involves the construction of a retaining wall around the perimeter of the large dog park and enhancements to the walkway outside the large dog park and its entrance.

During the renovations, the ADA parking spaces in front of the shade structure, the sidewalk next to the dog park along Colesville Road/Route 29, and the sidewalk around the dog park will be closed.
