Loyalty Bookstores to Open Pop-Up Location for the Holidays

Loyalty Bookstores will again open a holiday pop-up store in downtown Silver Spring, founder Hannah Olive Depp and her business partner, Gene Taft, announced today.

The outlet will open Saturday, Oct. 12 at 823 Ellsworth Dr. in the former location of Color Me Mine.

Loyalty operated a pop-up store last year in the former location of Lincoln’s Bar-B-Que and maintained a presence in Silver Spring with a display at the weekly farmers market. The independent bookstore also has a location in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, D.C.

Loyalty will host free children’s book story time every Thursday and Saturday at 11 a.m. “Loyalty Silver Spring will also offer a full event calendar of author readings throughout the holidays, and will be partnering with Downtown Silver Spring neighbors on a variety of other events and programs,” according to the announcement.

The pop-up will be open from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.–6 p.m. on Sunday. It will be closed on Mondays.

Negotiations are underway for the bookstore to open a long-term location in the area, Depp said.
