Police Seek Help Identifying Suspect in White Oak Carjacking

Detectives from the county police department’s Major Crimes Division are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in a June 13 carjacking at a White Oak bus stop. The investigation showed that the suspect stole property from a business in the 10100 block of New Hampshire Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. that day, fleeing on foot.

Police Investigating Shots Fired at Vehicle in White Oak; Surveillance Video Released

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department’s 3rd District are investigating shots fired at an occupied vehicle that occurred shortly after midnight on January 23 in a commercial parking lot in White Oak. Area video surveillance captured the suspect firing a gun at the victim’s vehicle, and MCPD is asking for the public’s help with identifying the suspect.

Four Corners Church Site Now For Sale

The former home of Marvin Memorial United Methodist Church at the intersection of University Boulevard and Colesville Road is now listed for sale with Cresa, a global commercial real estate firm. The asking price for the Four Corners property is $5 million, said listing agent LaMean Koroma, and has already generated a lot of interest.

White Oak ABS Store Reopens

The county’s Alcohol Beverage Services store in the White Oak Shopping Center at 11239 New Hampshire Ave. reopened yesterday, the department announced. The store temporarily closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

DTSS to Set Up S’mores Stations Benefitting Manna Food Center

Downtown Silver Spring will set up two s’mores stations on the plaza Friday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Dec. 11 to benefit Manna Food Center, according to the DTSS website. For a $5 fee, which goes to the center, groups of up to six people can reserve a 15-minute s’mores roasting period between 5 and 8 p.m. each evening.
