The County Council will today consider and vote on a Sixth Amended Board of Health Regulation to formalize the changes in pandemic restrictions.
Local YMCA Will Be One of First Branches in the Area to Add Pickleball
The YMCA in Silver Spring will be one of the first branches of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington to add pickleball to its programs, according to a press release. The Y plans to add more than 20 courts in Silver Spring, YMCA Bethesda-Chevy Chase and YMCA Arlington Tennis and Squash Center, with twice as many added by the end of 2022.
Construction Begins on Kiddie Academy® in East Silver Spring
Construction has begun for an educational childcare facility in the building that formerly housed Ambassador Animal Hospital at 811 Sligo Ave. The plans for Kiddie Academy® of Silver Spring were originally presented to the community in March 2019. The local franchise, part of Kiddie Academy, an Abingdon, Md. company that provides educational childcare at more than 270 locations around the country, will be owned and operated by Rakhi and Parnab De.
