Author George Pelecanos

March 9 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free
  • George Pelecanos, author and a producer/writer for HBO’s “The Wire,” will talk about Washington as a literary location. Moderating the event is Bryan McCann, professor of history at vice dean of faculty affairs at Georgetown University.

This is free to attend though space is limited.

This event is part of the Sunday Evening Salon, a series of in-store events centered on Washington DC history and culture. The Sunday Evening Salon is in honor of Mary Ternes, a family friend and long-time librarian in the Washingtoniana department (now part of the People’s Archive) at the Martin Luther King, Jr. public library.

Mary spent her career archiving and preserving DC history. The series is our way to both recognize her achievements and to highlight a few of the ways that our community is special.
