Small Press Sci-Fi Showcase
March 31 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeJoin writers Dominique Dickey and TT Madden, authors of recent novellas published by local queer speculative press Neon Hemlock, as they read from their respective titles, Redundancies and Potentials and The Cosmic Color. Followed by a brief Q&A. Moderated by Luke Sutherland, author of Distance Sequence, winner of the 2023 OutWrite Chapbook Competition.
Dominique Dickey is a speculative fiction writer and game designer. As the creative director of Sly Robot Games, they’ve created Plant Girl Game and Tomorrow on Revelation III. They contributed to the Nebula Award-winning Thirsty Sword Lesbians, and the ENNIE Award-winning Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel. Their short fiction has appeared in venues including Fantasy Magazine, Lightspeed Magazine, and Nightmare Magazine. They live in the DC area, where they’re always on the hunt for their next idea. You can find their work at dominiquedickey.com.
TT Madden (they/them) is a genderfluid, mixed-race author of The Cosmic Color and The Familialists who refuses to keep politics out of their books. Their work in scifi, fantasy, and horror often deals with the intersections of their various identities. Their forthcoming novellas include the YA horror Gorman’s House with Mad Axe Media, and the religious horror The Neon Revelation with Timber Ghost Press. They can be found on social media as @ttmaddenwrites.
Luke Sutherland is a multi-genre writer and library worker. He was a finalist for the Larry Neal Writers’ Award, the Black Warrior Review Flash Contest, and the SmokeLong Quarterly Award for Flash Fiction. His work has appeared in smoke and mold, ANMLY, Bright Wall/Dark Room, and elsewhere. He is also co-editor of the DC-based trans micropress Lilac Peril. Distance Sequence is his debut chapbook.
