Somatic Principles for Yoga Teachers and Movement Educators & Enthusiasts
September 29 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$54Are you looking for ways to slow down while teaching a class that flows in the same way you and your students know and love?
Have you noticed that same old alignment rules are falling short and limiting your ability to help your students move better?
Somatic Movement, a term gaining popularity in yoga and movement circles, is more than just a buzzword. It’s a practical approach that empowers the body to self-correct and heal through internal awareness, making it a valuable addition to any embodied movement practice.
Applying Somatic principles to your teaching will help you reach students with movement challenges that don’t have simple answers. Things like limited mobility, a lack of proprioception or a history of pain when they practice traditional yoga.
This workshop will leave you with knowledge of basic somatic sequences and somatic principles that you can creatively weave into your teaching and your practice right away.
Here’s what we will explore in our time together:
* A brief overview and discussion of Clinical Somatics and its relation to your nervous system and brain.
* A PDF outlining some Somatic practices you can incorporate into your teaching right away
* A longer yoga practice applying the Somatic principles you just learned
Discussion and Q & A.
