The county has released its schedule of closings for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
All county offices will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. State offices also will be closed on those two days; in addition, the governor declared Dec. 24 would be a holiday for state workers.
The county’s libraries will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. All branches will close at 6 p.m. on Christmas and New Year’s eves.
County liquor stores will close Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, as will all recreation programs and facilities. For the schedule of Montgomery Parks facilities, visit www.MontgomeryParks.org.
Ride On Flex will operate on its normal schedule Christmas and New Year’s evenings, but will not operate on Christmas or New Year’s Day. Check www.wmata.com for schedules of bus lines and Metrorail.
The TRiPS Commuter Store in Silver Spring and the TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station will close 3 at p.m. on both Dec. 24 and 31, and will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The county will not pick up trash or recycling on Christmas or New Year’s Day, postponing collections by one day.
Finally, all parking at public garages, surface lots and street meters will be free on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
