The county has announced its schedule of closings for the Thanksgiving Day holiday Nov. 26.
All county offices, libraries and the Alcohol Beverage Services retail stores will be closed, as will all recreation programs and facilities.
In addition, state offices and courts will be closed.
Ride On/On Extra and Flash services will operate on a Sunday schedule; the Ride On Flex is not operating due to the pandemic. MTA information for the holiday will be available here, while riders can check the WMATA site for information about Metro and busses.
The TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center and the TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store will be closed.
All county-provided trash and recycling collection will be cancelled Nov. 26 and will slide one day, with the last collection for the week on Saturday, Nov. 28. In addition, the Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station will be closed.
Parking at public garages, lots and curbside meters will be free Thanksgiving Day.
Finally, portions of Sligo Creek Parkway, Little Falls Parkway and Beach Drive are open for pedestrians and bicyclists from noon on Thursday, Nov. 26, through 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30. Additional park information is available online.
