County Offices Closed, Other Changes in Effect for Monday Holiday

County offices will be closed for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday, Jan. 18, and other changes will be in effect, according to various officials.

The Recreation Department’s administrative office, senior centers and community centers also will be closed. Aquatics programs and facilities will be open while all other classes and programs have been canceled.

Ride On Flex service continues to be on hold due to the pandemic, and Ride On/Ride On Extra and Flash buses will run on a weekday schedule. The TRiPS Commuter Store at the transit center will be open 10 a.m.–4 p.m., while the mobile commuter store will be closed.

County-provided trash and recycling collections will not be picked up on Monday, and the collections will slide by one day next week. The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station will be closed Monday.

Finally, all public parking garages, lots and street meters will be free.
