What’s Happening MoCo Podcast Educates County Residents

Montgomery County residents can learn more about the programs, events, and people in their County through the What’s Happening MoCo podcast, hosted by Derrick Kenny of County Cable Montgomery.

The featured guest on the latest episode is NAACP Image Award nominee and Silver Spring native Marcus Johnson, a former Blair High School jazz band member and Billboard Top 10 jazz artist, producer, and author. Jerome Fletcher, an assistant chief administrative officer for Montgomery County, also joined the podcast to share an update on business and community resources.

About two dozen episodes of What’s Happening MoCo, which launched in late 2018, have been produced, according to a county press release. Previous episodes have included: County Director of Procurement Ash Shetty talking about how vendors can work to obtain County Government contracts; Fire and Rescue Chief Scott Goldstein sharing safety tips for families; Michele Eberle, executive director of the Maryland Health Connection, addressing how uninsured residents can get health insurance; and Mary Beth Dugan of the Access Office of Montgomery Parks discussing programs for active seniors.

The podcast can be heard on all of the major podcast platforms and streamed on the What’s Happening MoCo Facebook page or County Cable Montgomery’s YouTube channel.
