County Announces Closings, Changes for Presidents Day

The county has announced closings and schedule changes for Presidents Day on Monday, Feb. 15.

All county offices and libraries will be closed, as will state offices and courts. In addition, Montgomery Parks’  headquarters, customer service and permit offices will be closed.

Some park indoor facilities will be open and visitors should check with individual facilities. Aquatic facilities will be open for reservations as scheduled but all other recreation facilities remain closed.

Ride On/Ride On extRa/Flash Service will operate on a weekday schedule; Ride On Flex remains closed due to the pandemic. The TRiPs Mobile Commuter Store will not operate, though the commuter store at the Silver Spring Transit Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Information about holiday service on Metro and Metrobus is available online, as is MARC information.

There will be no county pickup of trash or recycling on Monday and all services will slide one day that week. However, the Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., though the administrative office will close.

All of the county’s Alcohol Beverage Service stores will be open from noon to 5 p.m.

Finally, parking in public garages, lots and street meters will be free on Monday.
