DHHS Accepting Applications for Community Services Grants Program

The county’s Department of Health and Human Services is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for the FY22 Community Services Grants Program, officials announced.

The one-time grants of up to $10,000 are available “to support health and human service projects that promote a safe, healthy, and self-sufficient community,” according to a press release.

The funding can be used for reimbursement for purchases of approved equipment of other capital expenditures. All programs, if funded, must begin and be completed between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.

Applications, with details about eligibility, evaluation criteria and other information are available online. All applications will go through an initial review and be judged by a grants panel of public and private representatives.

The panel will make recommendations for funding to the county executive, who will approve and decide what goes into the FY22 operating budget. The County Council will make a final determination during its budget review and approval process.

The application deadline is Wednesday, April 7.
