County Now Fully Reopened as of 6 a.m. Today

Montgomery County is now fully reopened, with all local health orders and their restrictions lifted as of 6 a.m. this morning.

There are no longer any county pandemic-related limits on capacity or distancing, though residents are still subject to certain requirements from the state. In addition, the county will still require masks in county-owned or -operated facilities.

The state still requires patrons to wear masks in or on school buses and any public transportation, including taxis and on-demand driver services such as Uber or Lyft (which is also a federal requirement).

Masks are also required when patients receive any type of health care services, including labs and pharmacies; indoors in a school where there’s a likelihood of close interactions with others, such as classrooms, cafeterias, hallways, auditoriums and so forth; and indoors in childcare facilities and youth camps.

Businesses and workplaces are free to set their own mask or other requirements, officials noted.

People who are not fully vaccinated must wear masks indoors, including areas generally open to the public, where food is prepared or, like schools, where there’s a likelihood of close interactions with others.

In general, masks are no longer required when outdoors, though unvaccinated people should still wear them.
