The county has announced closings and schedule changes for the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 6.
County offices, libraries, state offices and courts will be closed on Monday. In addition, county-operated COVID-19 vaccination and testing centers, and the COVID-19 call center will be closed Sunday, Sept. 5, and Monday, Sept. 6.
All recreation centers, senior centers and administrative offices also will be closed. County aquatics programs and facilities will be open, except the Martin Luther King and Germantown Indoor Swim Centers are closed for annual maintenance.
The county’s Alcohol Beverage Services stores will be open from noon-5 p.m.
Ride On and Flash service will operate on a Sunday schedule; Ride On Flex will be in service, but Ride On Extra will not.
The TRiPS Commuter store at the Silver Spring Transit Center will be open from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. while the mobile store will not be open.
Metrorail and Metrobus holiday information is available online, as is information about the MARC trains and commuter buses.
Trash and recycling will not be collected by county-operated service on Monday. After the holiday, county-provided recycling and trash collections will slide to be collected one day later than normal. The Shady Grove Transfer Station and Recycling Center will be closed.

Parking at the county’s public garages, lots and curbside meters will be free on the holiday.
In Takoma Park, all city offices including the police department will be closed Sunday and Monday, though the police will be available for emergencies. There will be no yard waste pickup on Monday.
