County’s Adoption Center Waiving Fees to Adopt Rabbits

The county’s Animal Services and Adoption Center is waiving adoption fees for all its available rabbits from now through Nov. 9 in a promotion sponsored by the nonprofit Friends of Montgomery County Animals.

“Rabbits make excellent pets, have lots of personality, and can even be litter box trained,” according to a press release. “MCASAC currently has 25 rabbits available for adoption. The shelter has had to use additional rooms to house the rabbits as the small animal adoption room is at capacity.”

Patrons who submit review the adoption guidelines and complete an adoption questionnaire throughout this event will receive a voucher valid through Nov. 30 to adopt a rabbit for free.

Interested residents may apply online or may come to the shelter in person to make an appointment. Some walk-in appointments may be available.

Shelter hours of operation are noon–7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and noon–5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The shelter is closed to the public on Wednesdays.
