The county and the city of Takoma Park have announced schedule changes for the New Year’s holiday weekend.
County offices, libraries and state offices and courts will be closed Friday, Dec. 31. Libraries will also close Jan. 1. Alcohol Beverage Services stores will be open 10 a.m.–6 p.m. New Year’s Eve and closed New Year’s Day.
Ride On will operate on a Sunday schedule Friday and a Saturday schedule on New Year’s Day. Flash service will operate on a weekend schedule (Orange Line only) both days. Ride On extRa and Flex will not be in service.
The TRiPS Commuter Store in Silver Spring and the TRiPS Mobile Store will be closed Dec. 31. MARC train and bus information is available online.
Aquatic facilities will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 31. Community centers, senior centers and administrative offices will close Friday, while all facilities will close Jan. 1.
Since New Year’s is on Saturday, there will be no changes to county trash and recycling pickups. Shady Grove Transfer Station and Recycling Center will be open on Dec. 31 and close New Year’s Day.
Parking at county garages, lots and curbside meters will be free on Friday.
Most Montgomery Parks offices and indoor facilities will be closed Dec. 24 and 25; more information is available online.
In Takoma Park, city offices and facilities, including police department offices, will be closed Dec. 31, and the city offices and facilities stay closed through Sunday, Jan. 2.
