The county’s offices and departments will open today as scheduled, as the region digs out from a winter storm that dumped up to 8 inches of snow on the area.
Schedules for the county’s Department of Recreation programming, as well as trash and recycling collection, have been modified.
“Montgomery County Government offices and departments will open on Tuesday, Jan. 4, according to their normal operating schedules,” reads a county press release. “Montgomery County-operated COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics will also open at their scheduled times on Jan. 4.
“If you missed a scheduled testing or vaccination appointment due to weather or road conditions yesterday, you may get tested or vaccinated at any County-sponsored sites to complete your appointment today. You must have an appointment confirmation for Jan. 3 to be served as there are no walk-ups available. Please plan for a wait because today’s appointments are fully booked. There is limited space for waiting indoors so anyone with an appointment should plan and dress accordingly.
“Montgomery County Recreation’s programming schedule has been modified. All regularly scheduled programs and activities are cancelled. Pools will open at 8:30 a.m. Community centers will be open for drop-in activities. Senior centers are closed.
“Montgomery County’s Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) trash and recycling schedule has been modified. Due to weather conditions, County-provided trash and recycling collections will slide by one day this week. DEP anticipates opening the Transfer Station under normal conditions on Jan. 4. Please visit the DEP website for the latest updates.”
