ABS Stores Move to Reduced Hours Starting Today

The county’s Alcohol Beverage Services retail stores, including Silver Spring, Flower Avenue and White Oak stores, will operate on reduced hours beginning today (Jan. 12), officials announced.

The temporary hours will be noon–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours will stay the same, noon to 5 p.m.

The issue, officials said, is COVID-19-related staff shortages.

“Montgomery County appreciates its outstanding workforce more than ever,” ABS Director Kathie Durbin said in a press release.  “ABS remains committed to excellent customer service, and we look forward to returning to regular hours once this current wave has passed.”

ABS had cut service hours in the past but reopened with regular hours in June 2021.

A list of stores with locations and phone numbers is online.
