The county and Takoma Park have announced closings and schedule changes for the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 21.
County offices and libraries will be closed, as will state offices and courts along with the Motor Vehicle Administration and Vehicle Emissions Inspection stations.
There will be no COVID-19 test kit and mask distributions at libraries on Monday, though the Alcohol Beverage Services stores will be open from noon–6 p.m.
Aquatics facilities will be open and all aquatics programs will meet as scheduled. All senior centers and community recreation centers will be closed. All other classes and programs will not be held.
Ride On buses will operate on new schedules that went into effect on Jan. 16, Flash will operate on the Orange Line only, and Ride On extRa and Flex will not be in service.
Information about MARC trains and commuter buses is available online; Metrobus will operate on a Saturday supplemental schedule while Metrorail runs on regular weekday service.
TRiPS Silver Spring commuter store will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m., but the TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store will be closed.
The county collection of trash and recycling will not happen on Monday and pick up will slide one day.
The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station will be open for trash and recycling drop-offs. The Recycling Center will be closed, so no tours will be scheduled.
Parking at public garages, lots, and curbside meters will be free on Monday.
Most indoor park facilities will be closed, though Wheaton Indoor Tennis, Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center, the Cabin John Ice rink and Wheaton Ice Arena all will operate under normal hour. More information about park facilities is available online.
In Takoma Park, city facilities and administrative offices, including the police department, will be closed on the holiday.
