Governments, Agencies Announce Schedule Changes for Juneteenth Holiday

Local governments and agencies have announced closings and schedule changes for the federal Juneteenth holiday on Monday, June 19.

All county offices and libraries will be closed, including county-operated COVID-19 vaccination and testing clinics while Alcohol Beverage Services stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Takoma Park, all city offices and facilities will be closed on Sunday, June 18 and Monday for the holiday.

State offices and courts will be closed, along with Motor Vehicle Administration offices and vehicle emissions inspection program stations.

Ride On, Ride On extRa, and Ride On Flex will operate a holiday schedule.

The Flash Orange Line will operate on a weekend and holiday schedule, while The Blue Line will not be in service. Ride On transit services will run on a holiday schedule.

The TRiPS Silver Spring commuter store will be open from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., while the mobile commuter store will be closed.

Metrobus will run on the Saturday Supplemental schedule. Metrorail will operate on a Saturday Holiday schedule, with trains running from 5 a.m.–midnight. MARC trains will provide  service schedule on the Penn Line only. No Camden or Brunswick Line service.

County-provided trash and recycling collections are postponed on Monday. Collections will slide one day later than usual throughout the week, with the last pickup on Saturday, June 24.

The Shady Grove Transfer Station and Recycling Center will be closed.

County outdoor aquatic facilities will be open 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 3–6 p.m. Indoor aquatic facilities will close at 6 p.m. Community recreation centers and senior centers will be closed.

Some Montgomery Parks offices and facilities will be closed while others operate on modified schedules. See the website for complete information.

Parking at public parking garages, lots, and curbside meters will be free on Monday.
