The National Weather Service has issued information about a significant storm system expected to pass through the area on Tuesday.
Potential impacts include wintry weather in the mountains, flooding from heavy rainfall, coastal flooding, river flooding, storm-force winds over the waters, and strong winds over land.
The National Weather Service’s Baltimore/Washington office forecasts that the entire area could experience 2 to 3 inches of rain and wind gusts reaching up to 50 mph. A Flood Watch will be in place from 1 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Wednesday, along with a Wind Advisory from 3 p.m. Tuesday until 1 a.m. Wednesday.
