The county has announced its holiday schedule for Labor Day on Monday.

All county office will be closed on Labor Day, as will state offices, courts, schools and the school system’s administrative offices. Libraries will be closed on both Sunday and Monday.

There will be no trash or recycling pickup Monday. All pickups will be pushed back one day (Monday’s collection will be Tuesday, etc.). The Shady Grove Processing Facility also will be closed.

The Wheaton/Glenmont and Martin Luther King outdoor aquatic facilities will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Except for the Olney Swim Center, all indoor aquatic facilities, as well as the Long Branch and Upper County outdoor pools, will be closed. The Recreation Department’s administrative offices, senior centers and community centers will be closed as well.

The schedule for park facilities varies and is available here.

The TrIPS Commuter Stores in Silver Spring and Friendship Heights will be closed, and Ride On will operate on a Sunday schedule. Parking at public garages, lots and street meters will be free.

Check WMATA for Metrobus and Metrorail holiday-related information.

Finally, all county liquor stores will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
