Furloughed government workers, contractors and others affected by the government shutdown can learn about assistance available to them during a resource fair tomorrow (Jan. 26).
Councilmember Will Jawando (D-At Large) convened and will co-sponsor the fair, along with Our Voices Matter. The event will be hosted by Reid Temple AME Church at 12101 Tech Rd. from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
“County government, our nonprofit providers, utility providers and local businesses have stepped up to help residents affected by the government shutdown obtain the vital services they need,” said Jawando in a press release. “Leadership in Washington has become disconnected from the people. I pledge to do all that I can to help support county residents and service providers as they endure this extended period of unprecedented stress.”
The resource fair will include representatives from the following agencies and organizations:
