The county has released its schedule for the Fourth of July holiday on Thursday.
All county offices and libraries will be closed, as will be state offices and courts. In addition, Governor Larry Hogan announced yesterday that state employees will be give the day off on Friday, July 5
The county’s liquor stores, however, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There will be no trash or of recycling pick up on the holiday. The schedule for pick up will shift one day—Thursday’s pickup will take place on Friday, and the normal Friday collection will be on Saturday. The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station also will be closed.
The Department of Recreation’s administrative offices, senior centers and recreation centers will not be open. Aquatics programs and facilities will be open, though all pools except the Germantown Indoor Swim Center (closes at 3 p.m.) will close at 6 p.m.
The TRiPS Commuter Store in Silver Spring will be open, and Ride On will operate on Saturday schedule on July 4. Service information for WMATA busses and Metro, is available here. Parking in county garages, surface lots and at curbside meters will be free.
Also, the Montgomery County Planning Board, which normally meets on Thursday, will not meet July 4.
Finally, Lyft will offer free rides (up to $15) from 7 p.m. Thursday, July 4 though 2 a.m. Friday, July 5 with a code from Sober Ride®.
