The Silver Spring/Takoma Park Thunderbolts will return for their 18th season of baseball in Montgomery County. The Tbolts, who compete in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, play their home games at Montgomery Blair High School. The first home game is June 9. The winners of the fifth annual Best of Fenton Village were recognized last night in a ceremony hosted by The Nora School.
A new apartment building on the corner of Fenton Street and Wayne Avenue is scheduled to open in the summer with ground-level retail spaces facing Fenton, and East Silver Spring residents are dreaming about what they’d like to see in those spaces.
The team selected to redevelop the Park and Planning headquarters property at 8787 Georgia Ave. presented its sketch plan to about 25 people Wednesday night.

Hen Quarter, a Southern-themed restaurant and bourbon bar, has opened on Ellsworth Drive in the space formerly occupied by Austin Grill.
