Six new businesses have recently opened in the Takoma Park business corridor, according to an announcement from Main Street Takoma. The businesses include restaurants, personal and business services.
Bump ‘n Grind will open its coffee kiosk at the Silver Spring Library this Saturday, June 26, according to a tweet posted last evening. The coffee shop and roaster is taking over the space vacated by Kefa Cafe, which decamped for the Wheaton Library last year.
A husband and wife team who started Nips Juice House in Waldorf, Md. will open a second location in Silver Spring this summer. Chris and Chiara Donovan will bring their concept, which they opened in June 2018, to the former Jimmy John’s location at 8710 Cameron St.
The Angry Jerk, advertising “authentic Caribbean cuisine,” will open at 8223 Georgia Ave., the former location of the Big Greek Café, which moved down the street several months ago.
The Fullfillery zero waste shop will have a soft opening at its new home in Takoma Park this Thursday, June 3rd, according to an email from Main Street Takoma. The shop will be located on the second floor at 7006 Carroll Ave., above Mark’s Kitchen.
Hug Lounge is now open at 949 Bonifant St., the former location of Pennyworth Thrift Shop, according to the company’s website. The menu largely consists of Ethiopian cuisine, with breakfast offered along with smoothies and several fish dishes.
An F45 Training fitness studio will open on the ground floor of Solaire 8250 on Georgia Avenue later this year, according to the company’s website. The company focuses on offering group workouts that primarily consist of high-intensity interval training, circuit training, and functional training.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen will open an outlet at 8401 Georgia Ave., according to a “Coming Soon” sign now posted in the window. Construction has been underway for several weeks to convert the space formerly occupied by Bombay Gaylord.
A scaled-down version of a Pizza Hut restaurant will take over half the space of the former Game Stop location at 10100 Colesville Rd., according to Todd Malamut, a principal with NREB LLC and leasing agent for the building.
